What counts
- A real first name, including common spellings (Mohammed, Muhammad)
- Any animal: pets, birds, fish, insects and breeds
- Everyday objects you can hold or point at
- Food and drink: ingredients, dishes and snacks
- A country, by its common name or a well-known alias (USA, Holland)
- Several words, like Ice cream or New Zealand. Capitals and accents don't matter
What doesn't
- An answer that doesn't start with the round's letter
- A real word in the wrong box. A balloon isn't an animal
- Made-up words, typos, or anything not in our word list
- Places that aren't countries, like cities or states
- A blank box
What's a Bakaloria?
A perfect edition: ten points in every box, the full speed bonus, on all seven letters. Every letter dealt has a perfect answer waiting in each category. Can you collect one on every difficulty?

Privacy policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy explains what information the Bakaloria app for iPhone ("Bakaloria", "we", "us") handles and why. In short: Bakaloria has no accounts and we don't run servers that collect your data. Your game progress stays on your device. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google may collect some information to do that, as described below.
Information stored on your device
- Your best score and number of Bakalorias for each difficulty, and the number of games you've played.
- Your consent and tracking choices, so we don't ask again every time.
This information is saved only on your iPhone. We never receive it. Answers you type during a round are checked against a word list built into the app and are not sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes this information. It may also be included in your own device backups, which are managed by Apple under your settings.
Advertising
Bakaloria is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect information from your device, such as:
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
- Your IP address and approximate location derived from it.
- Device and app information, such as model, operating system and app version.
- How you interact with ads, such as views and taps.
- Crash and performance diagnostics from the ads software.
Google's use of this information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices
- Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland and other regions where required): the first time you open Bakaloria, a consent message from Google lets you choose how your data is used for ads. You can change your choice at any time with the "Privacy choices" link on the app's home screen.
- Tracking: iOS asks whether Bakaloria may track you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier is not shared and you'll see less personalised ads. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Personalised ads: you can also limit ad personalisation in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising, and manage Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Children
Bakaloria is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its use. Because we don't hold personal information about you, requests about advertising data are best directed to Google, but you're welcome to contact us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Bakaloria handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
